Shanaaz Abdol, Managing Director of Altitude Skills Development (Pty) Ltd, has been involved in the Disability Sector for several years. In addition to her job as ASD’s Managing Director, Shanaaz has recently completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Disability Studies at the University of Cape Town. ASD’s mission to strive for equality in the workplace for the Disabled Community in Cape Town has become her own as she continues striving for equality not just with employment but in a broader, all-inclusive sense. She has become a paragon of Disability Equality in the Workforce.

Shanaaz Abdol’s IPDM/ASD Relationship

As of 2017, Shanaaz Abdol has assumed the role of Chairperson of the Institute for the Promotion of Disabled Manpower in addition to her role as Altitude Skills Development Managing Director. Both IPDM and ASD strive to improve the quality of life for the Disabled Community in South Africa. Shanaaz, a passionate advocate for Employment Equity, hopes that by linking ASD and IPDM, despite their differences, that her mission for equity between the Disabled and Non-Disabled Communities can be reached sooner and have a greater, longer-lasting impact on the country’s socio-economic landscape.

Yusri Dien is a training and skills development professional with experience in the design, implementation and management of funded and industry-supported training programmes. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Information Systems and Project Management.

His experience includes facilitation, assessment, programme design, project management and the implementation of both learnerships and occupational qualifications across a range of sectors.

Yusri works with Altitude Skills Development as Training Manager, supporting the planning, implementation and quality of training programmes. He is passionate about creating practical, well-structured learning experiences and helping learners successfully progress through their qualifications.

Zanele Racaza has been part of Altitude Skills Development (ASD) for seven years, bringing valuable experience in recruitment, administration, and business administration. In her role as Recruiter, she is involved in the recruitment and enrolment of learners, as well as providing ongoing support throughout their learning journey. Zanele has a genuine passion for working with people, empowering individuals, and contributing to skills development. She is committed to helping learners access opportunities that support their personal growth, professional development, and future career success.

Anusca Phillips plays a pivotal role at Altitude Skills Development (ASD) as Administrator, ensuring that all administrative operations and training programs run seamlessly. She oversees office paperwork, documentation processes, and the registration of learners across various SETA platforms. With a strong commitment to organizational efficiency and compliance, Anusca ensures that both learners and programs are fully supported from start to finish, keeping day-to-day operations structured and effective.

Colleen Simmers is a dedicated professional with experience in education, youth empowerment, and learner support. At Altitude Skills Development, she supports learners throughout their learnership journey, monitors attendance, manages absenteeism, and assists with recruitment and enrolment. She provides guidance to learners, addresses challenges, and liaises with employers and SETAs. With a passion for education and skills development, Colleen is committed to empowering learners to succeed and creating opportunities for personal and professional growth.
